Lets End The Stigma

We think nothing of booking an appointment with our dentist or doctor as part of looking after our physical health and wellbeing.  So why is it that we hesitate when it comes to booking therapy if we notice that our mental health and wellbeing could do with some help? 

We tend to try and “just get on with it” so things can get much worse before we seek help (if we ever do).

Perhaps we think we’ll be fine and our difficulties will pass over time?  And sometimes they do. Or maybe we think it’s somehow shameful to admit that we’re only human and finding life tough.  We can all struggle at times and can find it hard to see a way out of it on our own.

How we think about things (including ourselves) will have a huge impact on how we feel and behave. Yet investing in our own mental health and wellbeing can sometimes go to the bottom of our priority list.

It’s time for a change.  Booking therapy should be like booking any other appointment that will help you to look after your wellbeing and help you to maintain it.
